My Journey to Professional Photography

Hi, my name is Alicia and I am the owner and photographer of Alicia Marie Photography. I started this small business in my hometown of Fargo, North Dakota and have become a successful operation with my work being recognized worldwide in just three years. I am the youngest of three girls and was born and raised in Fargo. I have a love for the changing seasons and natural landscaping of the Midwest and this has become a major part of my photography as I love to shoot outdoors and capture nature’s beauty on film. I put my heart into every photo that I take. I am simplistic in my business and my personal life and I love strong coffee, great people, and a good conversation. And, of course, an amazing picture!

Early Years

I started my business three years ago and have become a thriving family-owned company within that time. I have clients that come from the East and West coasts to have photography sessions with me with their children and families. Although many competitors offer digital files for their photos as their main goal, I choose to focus on print film so families can take home something tangible with them as a keepsake. With high-quality at the heart of my business, I do not batch or bulk edit and I treat each one as a unique creation. I steer clear from gimmicks that get false reactions and trendy fads that quickly fade and produce only quality prints that your family will love. With me, you will always get a completely customized experience that you will treasure.

My love for Photography

I grew up loving the camera and having photos taken. I grew up in the 1990's and 2000's so having photographs taken and going to the store to wait for them to develop was the highlight of my day! The excitement of receiving brand new images to add to my albums was the greatest feeling. As a young child I would spend hours flipping through old Polaroid images of my grandparents and extended family. I recall hundreds of images being spread out on the dining room table and reading the perfectly captioned cursive notes behind each one. I recall the smell of the old albums as i peeled off the plastic revealing the images. This is one of the reasons why I am so passionate about printing your photos to the highest archival quality and not settling for drugstore or big box store printing. I want all my friends and clients to have that heartwarming feeling when they open their images for the first time. As we move into this digital era, there is one thing that will never change for me, and that is holding a photograph in my hand.
